A thousand years ago, men of science stared into their souls and their cauldrons in an attempt to take nothing and turn it into something, take thought and turn it into reality, take simple iron and turn it into precious metals.

Today, we laugh and call it magic, never real and always failing in its attempt to create shape out of chaos.

I have a secret, however. Some of us still believe in magic, in the power of alchemy, and in the philosophy of becoming immortal through our art.

This is the story of one such creature who endeavors to take idea and make it tangible, take thought and make it beauty, and take a blank canvas and create a precious gem.

I sometimes wonder if the most hated aspect of design is the three column layout.  Or really, any layout where your primary content is in the middle, directly surrounded by two far less important segments.  Strangely enough, this seems to often be the most used design type on the web.  Three columns functions well for holding a wealth of useful (or useless?) information in a nice organized format.  Right...?Personally, I wouldn't mind getting rid of them all together.  I hate having extra mark-up for the sake of design, a...
